# What CBAM figure does an ammonia exporter in Trinidad need for EU buyers?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/trinidad-ammonia-exporter-cbam-figure

Ammonia (CN 2814) is a CBAM good. Its figure counts direct emissions from gas used as feed and fuel, plus indirect emissions from electricity. CO2 sent to a urea or methanol plant is usually treated as emitted unless the rules allow otherwise. Methanol itself is not a CBAM good.

## What counts

- Feed and fuel gas, metered and analysed.
- Electricity, since indirect emissions count for fertilisers.
- Any purchased hydrogen as a precursor.

## Carbon price

CBAM allows a deduction only for a carbon price effectively paid in the country of origin. Check whether any applies before claiming one.

## Buyers

EU importers will ask for a verified actual figure per installation.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel, power and production records into dated, fingerprinted installation records, the starting point for the actual emissions your EU importer asks for.
