# How do I estimate the CBAM cost per tonne of Turkish cement in 2026?

Take the embedded emissions per tonne, direct plus indirect, subtract the adjustment for free allocation still given to EU producers that year, and multiply by the CBAM certificate price for the quarter. Deduct any carbon price effectively paid in Turkey.

- Embedded emissions per tonne: verified actual or the default value with its mark up.
- The free allocation adjustment, which shrinks each year from 2026 to 2034 as EU free allocation is phased out.
- The certificate price, published quarterly by the Commission in 2026.

## Order of steps

1. Embedded emissions x tonnes imported.
2. Minus the free allocation adjustment for the year.
3. Minus any eligible carbon price paid in Turkey.
4. Times the certificate price.
