# What solar records will a GHG verifier ask for?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/verifier-asks-for-rooftop-solar-generation-records

Expect to show the inverter or generation meter log for the year, the net-metering bill showing import and export, and proof you own the system or the power purchase terms. Only solar you used yourself lowers grid electricity; units exported to the grid are not your consumption.

## Records

- Monthly generation from the inverter or a separate meter.
- Net-metering bills with import, export and net units.
- Ownership papers or the solar power purchase agreement.

## Common gaps

Inverter portals that lost history, and bills showing only net units. Export the log every month and keep it.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible keeps each figure tied to its invoice, factor and method version, so a verifier can trace any number back to the document it came from.
