# Our verifier wants calibration certificates for our meters. Which ones matter?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/verifier-asks-meter-calibration-certificates

The meters whose readings become emissions: your own fuel flow meters, sub-meters, steam meters and the weighbridge. Utility meters belong to the discom or gas company, so their bill is the evidence. In India a weighbridge used for trade should carry a valid Legal Metrology stamp.

## What to collect

- Weighbridge verification or stamping certificate.
- Calibration reports for fuel flow meters and sub-meters.
- Steam meter calibration, if used to allocate emissions.

## If a meter is out of date

Say so, use the reading with a note, and cross-check against invoices. Get it calibrated before the next period.

## Meters you do not own

Discom and gas company meters are checked by them. Keep the bills; a verifier will not ask for their certificates.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible keeps every figure linked to its source invoice or bill with a fingerprint, so a verifier can trace a total back to the documents it came from.
