# We added no new equipment this year. Can we still verify our Verra project?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/verra-no-new-equipment-this-year-still-verify

Yes. For each verification period you must show that project activities were carried out as designed. Where you added nothing new, you show that the activities you installed earlier kept running. New equipment is not a condition for verifying.

## What the rule asks

- That during each verification period, project activities were implemented in line with the project design.
- That where no new activity was implemented, the activities already in place continued.

## What 'kept running' looks like in a factory

- Monthly fuel and power bills across the period.
- Production records and run-hour logs for the project equipment.
- Maintenance and breakdown logs, including dates of any stoppage.
- Meter readings from the monitoring plan.

## What to watch

- Record any stoppage. Your claim should follow what was measured, not the design.
- If you replaced or changed equipment, treat it as a change and read the deviation rules.
- Quiet years still need a complete monitoring record. Gaps, not missing equipment, cause trouble.

## Example: a year with no new equipment

- Project: heat recovery unit installed in 2026
- Verification period: 2027, no new equipment
- Evidence: 12 monthly gas bills, 12 run-hour logs, one three-week shutdown in August logged and excluded from the claim
- Statement to the validation and verification body (VVB): the 2026 activity continued through 2027 as designed

An example of the evidence set. Your monitoring plan lists the exact records.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible keeps your dated monthly fuel and power invoices, which shows an earlier installation kept running year after year. It does not register projects or issue credits; Verra and your validation and verification body do.
