# A European apparel brand wants carbon data from our Zhejiang dyeing mill. What do we send?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/zhejiang-dyeing-mill-coal-steam-buyer-data

Send Scope 1 from boiler fuel, Scope 2 from electricity at the grid factor, and a figure per kilogram of fabric dyed. If steam comes from an industrial park plant, count it as purchased heat. Give the period, the factors and the share of output each figure covers.

## What to measure

- Coal, gas or biomass for your own boilers.
- Steam bought from a park utility, in tonnes.
- Electricity from bills.

## How to express it

Most brands want kilograms of CO2e per kilogram of fabric, separated by process if you can: dyeing, printing and finishing use very different amounts of heat.

## Factors

Use the official Chinese grid factor for electricity and the steam supplier's figure for purchased steam, with a default stated if the supplier cannot give one.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads bills, fuel invoices and production records into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its documents.
