What CBAM figure does an EU buyer need for Bahraini aluminium?
Direct emissions per tonne from the smelter: anode CO2, perfluorocarbons and cast house fuel. Bahrain's smelter runs on its own gas fired power, which is reported but not charged for aluminium. Ask for a verified figure per product rather than relying on default values.
What goes in
- Anode carbon consumed in the pots.
- CF4 and C2F6 from anode effects.
- Gas for casting furnaces.
- Bought anodes as precursors if not made on site.
Products
Ingot, billet, slab and liquid metal sent to downstream plants each need their own figure. Ask which one your shipment carries.
Electricity
Reported for every tonne. Buyers doing Scope 3 will add it, so ask for kWh per tonne too.
What Senseible does here
Senseible keeps each site's fuel, power and production records together, so the embedded emissions you send an EU importer trace back to dated documents.
