Senseible

What does a CBAM verifier check before accepting my engagement?

Before accepting, the verifier reviews your monitoring plan and last report, risks to its own independence, time needed, and whether it can work in your country: office, language, travel, visas, security. It must have competent staff and set time from the risks found. If more time is needed later, the contract must allow an adjustment.

The pre-contract review

Competence and time

The verifier must have the personnel, competence and resources for a team suited to your plant, and must set the time from the risks found. No minimum number of days is set in the rules. Insufficient contracted time must not lead to less work than the risks need, and travel time to remote plants needs special attention.

What you can expect in the contract

The evaluation is documented, along with how its risks are handled in the contract. The time allocated is not a fixed number of person-days: the contract must include a provision to adjust it if the detailed work needs more.

What you should do

What Senseible does here

Senseible does not verify emissions or choose a verifier for you. It keeps fuel, power and purchase records in dated, fingerprinted form, ready to hand over once the engagement starts.
