Can CDP's AI draft our questionnaire answers from our own documents?

For some questions. CDP's optional Response suggestions feature drafts answers to select Full and SME questions from documents your Submission Lead uploads. At the 2026 window opening it was open only to organisations that paid the Enhanced admin fee in 2025, with wider rollout later. Every suggestion must be reviewed and edited before you use it.

What it gives you

How to use it

  1. Complete your questionnaire setup. Only the Submission Lead can upload documents and generate suggestions.
  2. Upload up to 30 files of up to 150 MB each (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CSV, XML). CDP suggests annual, sustainability and integrated reports first; last year's response is considered automatically.
  3. Choose the output language, ideally the language of your response.
  4. Generate once all documents are in; it can take 30 minutes or more. Adding or removing documents marks suggestions out of date.
  5. Copy a suggestion into the answer field, then check and edit it.

Its limit

It only finds what your documents already say. CDP warns suggestions may contain inaccuracies, omissions or outdated information, and the Submission Lead stays responsible for every answer. If you have no emissions figures in any report yet, there is nothing for it to draft them from.

Your documents

CDP says uploaded files are stored encrypted in Europe, kept apart from other organisations' files, used only to answer your questionnaire and not used to train the model. The Submission Lead can delete them at any time.

What Senseible does here

Senseible builds Scope 1 and 2 figures from your fuel invoices and electricity bills, with factors and sources, so the numbers your CDP answers need exist before anything drafts the text around them.
