Two customers asked us through CDP. Can we send each of them a different answer?
One. CDP says a disclosing company can only respond to all its requests collectively; it is not possible to answer individual requests separately. Every customer who requested you through CDP gets the same questionnaire response. A customer who asks later joins that response once you accept the request and re-submit your questionnaire setup.
What shapes your one response
So a second customer that also asks about water can add questions to your response. It does not create a second one.
- Who requested you, and which environmental issues each asked for.
- Your CDP-ACS activities and the questionnaire sector they put you in.
- Whether you answer the Full or the SME questionnaire.
- Your own assessment of environmental risks.
When a new customer asks mid-cycle
- The request appears on the 'For review' tab of the Requests page.
- Your Submission Lead accepts or declines it. Accept before the final response deadline, or it expires; a requester is told if you decline.
- If you have already submitted, select 'Edit submission' first.
- Re-submit your questionnaire setup. Your answers stay, though some sector questions may change.
- Re-submit your response.
If one customer wants something extra
CDP's advice is to contact that requester directly about its specific request. Where a buyer wants the emissions linked to its own orders, answer the allocation question in the questionnaire, and keep anything you send outside CDP consistent with the response every customer sees.
What Senseible does here
Senseible keeps one set of Scope 1 and 2 figures built from your fuel invoices and electricity bills, so your CDP response and any figures a buyer asks for directly say the same thing.
- Supplier evidence for buyers
- CDP question on allocating emissions to a customer
- Who sees my CDP response
