Senseible

We are answering CDP for the first time. Can we keep our score private?

Usually. Under CDP's 2026 terms a score is unpublished when only supply chain, bank or private markets members requested you; CDP may share it with them. If investors requested you or you self-selected, a first response to a theme can get a private score if you ask within six weeks of the scoring deadline. An A is always public.

When CDP publishes a score

When it stays unpublished

In every other case, whether your response itself is public or non-public, CDP does not publish the score. It may make it available only to the supply chain, sustainable finance, bank program and private markets members that requested you, and to the other recipients CDP's terms allow for non-public responses. For a supplier requested only by its customers, this is the case that applies.

Asking for a private score

  1. Check you qualify: requested by capital markets signatories, or self-selected.
  2. Check it is your first response to the theme the score covers, such as climate change.
  3. Ask within six weeks of the scoring deadline, when CDP invites you. The 2026 scoring deadline was 16 September.
  4. If the score comes back as an A, CDP publishes it anyway.

Score privacy is not response privacy

Whether your answers are public or non-public is a separate choice you make when you submit. A non-public response can still sit alongside a published score if one of the cases above applies.

Example: three first-time disclosers

What Senseible does here

Senseible prepares the Scope 1 and 2 figures from your fuel invoices and electricity bills, with factors and sources, that sit behind a first CDP climate response. Scores and their publication are decided by CDP.
