Senseible

Do pollution control systems like ESPs and bag filters add to my emissions?

Yes, through electricity: fans, ESP power supplies and compressed air for bag cleaning are Scope 2. You cannot switch them off, but you can cut their kWh with fan drives, cleaning on pressure drop and fixing air leaks. Sub-meter them to see their share.

Where the kWh go

Cutting kWh without cutting control

Keep compliance first

Never trade emission limits for energy. Agree changes with the pollution control board consent conditions.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel invoices and electricity bills and applies IPCC 2006 factors and the CEA grid factor (0.710 kg CO2 per kWh), so you can compare Scope 1 and 2 before and after a change from the documents themselves.
