Senseible

Are goods from Norway, Iceland and Switzerland exempt from CBAM?

Yes. Goods originating in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland are outside CBAM, because those countries are in or linked to the EU emissions trading system. Origin decides it, not the shipping route. Indian steel routed through a Norwegian port is still Indian steel.

Exempt origins

What it means for others

Producers elsewhere compete with these suppliers, who face no CBAM charge. A lower embedded figure narrows the gap.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel, power and production records into dated, fingerprinted installation records, the starting point for the actual emissions your EU importer asks for.
