What must a company report after SBTi Net-Zero Standard V2 validation?
Scope 1 and 2 inventories, total electricity use, the share of electricity that is low-carbon, material data gaps and estimates, and, for Category A, Scope 3 categories at 5% or more of the total. Report in the next reporting cycle and agree to display on the SBTi Dashboard within six months.
The list
- Inventory under the GHG Protocol standards, using the latest versions.
- Scope 1 and 2 for Category A and Category B. Scope 3 as well for Category A.
- All Kyoto gases: CO2, CH4, N2O, SF6, NF3, and the groups of HFCs and PFCs.
- Category A only: the Scope 3 categories that account for 5% or more of categories 1 to 14, from the physical inventory.
- Total electricity consumption.
- The percentage of electricity that meets the low-carbon threshold.
- Material data gaps, method limits, uncertainties, and any use of estimates or proxy data.
When
Report in the next reporting cycle after target validation, and consent to relevant information being shown on the SBTi Dashboard within six months of completing validation.
Optional Scope 3
Scope 3 emissions outside a category's minimum boundary are reported separately and do not count when finding the significant categories.
What a supplier can do now
- Get electricity in kWh by month from bills.
- Keep fuel bills by fuel type.
- Write down where you used estimates.
What Senseible does here
Senseible turns your invoices and bills into verified Scope 1 and 2 records, and shows where supplier data is still missing for Scope 3. Verified here means rule checks passed against the evidence. It is not third-party assurance, and it does not validate targets: only the SBTi's validation process does.
