A SIDBI loan officer is not responding. Who do I escalate to, and how long do they have?
SIDBI runs three tiers. Complain at the branch and get a complaint ID. With no reply in 8 working days, go to the regional office. If that is not settled within 5 working days of escalation, write to the Chief Grievance Officer. Complex cases are aimed at one month. Anonymous complaints are not entertained.
The three tiers
- Branch office: a nodal officer at the branch. You can file in person, by post or email, or online, and you receive a unique complaint ID.
- Regional office: if there is no reply within 8 working days of registering, or the reply is unsatisfactory, escalate using the complaint ID.
- Head office: if the regional office does not resolve it within 5 working days of escalation, contact the Chief Grievance Officer or the Alternate Chief Grievance Officer.
What to put in the complaint
- Your full name.
- Customer ID, if you are an existing customer.
- Address, phone number and email.
- Reference number of the transaction or the complaint ID.
Other routes
- The Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System, CPGRAMS, for any citizen. You can track it with the registration ID and appeal if the answer is rated poor.
- For people harmed by a project funded by the Green Climate Fund, the GCF Independent Redress Mechanism.
Good to know
- Complaint books, suggestion boxes and notice boards with the nodal officers' contacts must be displayed at SIDBI offices.
- Complaints that need deeper analysis are aimed at resolution within one month of receipt.
- SIDBI says it evaluates its programme grievance process every year.
What Senseible does here
Senseible does not handle complaints for SIDBI. If a lender asks for climate evidence and you are stuck, the green loan check shows what is missing from your records.
