What are the UK CBAM default values for aluminium billets and ingots?

Billet for extrusion (7601 20 40) carries 2.030 tCO2e per tonne in HMRC's UK CBAM defaults. Alloy slabs (7601 20 30) are 2.038, other unwrought alloy such as ingot (7601 20 80) 2.121, non-alloy slabs (7601 10 10) 2.058 and other non-alloy unwrought aluminium (7601 10 90) 2.136.

Defaults under heading 7601

The billet default sits under every profile

An extruder can use actual data for its own presses and furnaces with the billet at 2.030. The reverse is not allowed: verified billet data with a default for the profile. Billet is usually most of a profile's figure.

Remelted billet is still 7601

Scrap under 7602 is outside the UK CBAM, but billet cast from it is an unwrought aluminium good under 7601. A remelter's figure covers its own furnace fuel and any primary metal it adds.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads billet purchases by supplier with your homogenising and press fuel invoices, so your profile figure shows how much comes from billet. We build the figure from your records and check every figure in-house; for the UK it must then be verified by a verifier accredited for UK CBAM. Have your own verifier? Send it to them.
