What do Vadodara's toughened glass and glass blowing units use in energy, and what is CO2 per tonne?

Electricity is 56% of the energy but about three quarters of the CO2. Vadodara's 33 glass MSMEs, 15 toughening and 18 glass blowing, processed 42,670 t on 3,377 toe in 2020-21, the rest being LPG and diesel. That is roughly 18,800 to 19,500 t CO2, about 0.44 to 0.46 t per tonne.

Two trades in one cluster

Why power dominates the CO2

1,892 toe of electricity is about 22 million kWh. At the grid factor each kWh carries about 0.675 kg CO2, so power gives about 14,900 t. The 1,485 toe of LPG and diesel gives 3,900 to 4,600 t depending on the split, which the summary does not give. A toughening unit cutting furnace losses or a blowing unit fixing its burners both move the number, but kWh is the bigger lever for the cluster.

Records each trade should keep

Estimate: cluster CO2 and per tonne

An estimate from the SAMEEEKSHA summary, IPCC 2006 default factors and the CEA FY 2025-26 grid factor. The LPG and diesel split is not published, so a range is shown. Your own bills give your own figure.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads your power bills, LPG invoices and diesel slips into a monthly record and works out CO2 per tonne or per piece from the output you enter, so each unit has its own figure instead of a cluster average.
