Senseible

Green loan schemes for MSMEs in India

SIDBI and your bank lend for different projects, BEE cuts the interest on some, and RBI and CGTMSE rules change what a bank will do. Pick what the money is for (energy efficiency, rooftop solar, a machinery upgrade or working capital) and compare who each route suits, what it pays for and the papers the lender will want. Senseible does not lend, arrange or approve loans. Lenders and scheme bodies decide.

Which routes fit which need

The same papers come up again and again

From a pile of bills to a file a lender reads

  1. Upload your electricity bills and fuel invoices, as photos or PDFs.
  2. Each bill is checked and kept as a record: each line shows the units used and how the emissions were worked out. The same bill is never counted twice.
  3. Finance evidence on your dashboard counts verified records only, ready to show your bank.

Start with the free green loan readiness check: a few one-tap questions and a checklist of what a credit team will ask for. It is not a loan decision. Signed in, you can prepare a green loan application. See also how credit teams use verified records.

Questions owners ask

Does Senseible give green loans?

No. Senseible does not lend, arrange or approve loans. It turns your bills into a verified emissions record you can hand to a lender. Banks, SIDBI and scheme bodies decide.

Is a green loan cheaper than a normal loan?

Sometimes, not always. Some schemes cut the cost, like ADEETIE's interest cut, but the rate still rests mostly on your repayment record, cash flow and collateral. Treat any saving as possible, not promised.

My unit is not in an ADEETIE cluster. What now?

BEE says a second phase is planned for about 100 more clusters. Until then, look at SIDBI's energy efficiency loans and your state's efficiency schemes.

Can I combine two schemes on one project?

Sometimes. A unit may get an audit under one programme and the loan from another, but check each scheme's rules before assuming they stack. Tell the bank about any subsidy, and count the energy saving once.

Do I need collateral for a green loan?

Not always. Banks are told not to take collateral from micro and small enterprises for loans up to ₹20 lakh sanctioned from 1 April 2026, and CGTMSE cover can go up to ₹10 crore. Taking that cover is the bank's choice.
