Our bank sent an ESG questionnaire with our loan renewal. How should we answer the climate part?
Answer only what your records show. Give Scope 1 and 2 from your fuel and electricity bills, the period and the method, and say plainly where you have no data yet. A short, sourced answer reads better to a credit team than a long one that cannot be checked.
Climate questions banks often ask
- Annual electricity and fuel use.
- Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
- Any energy saving or renewable projects.
- Exposure to floods, heat or water shortage.
How to answer
- Attach the calculation, not just totals.
- Mark estimates as estimates.
- Keep the same figures you give buyers, so they match.
What Senseible does here
Senseible turns invoices and bills into a dated, fingerprinted emissions record a lender can trace line by line. The lender makes its own credit decision.
