Your customer sent a carbon questionnaire. Answer it from your bills.
Most carbon questions in CDP, EcoVadis and customer portals are the same handful of numbers in different words: Scope 1, Scope 2, Scope 3, how you worked them out, and whether anyone checked. The Buyer answer pack in Senseible Reports answers them from your own invoices and bills, as a PDF and an Excel sheet, nine sections in the order buyers usually ask, every answer with its basis.
Which questions your papers answer
- Reporting period. Answered from: First and last bill date. If missing: Needs at least one bill.
- Company name, sector, GSTIN. Answered from: Your business details.
- Scope 1 total, and by fuel. Answered from: Fuel invoices × published factors. If missing: Needs fuel invoices.
- Scope 2, location-based. Answered from: Electricity bills × grid factor for the bill's year. If missing: Needs electricity bills.
- Scope 1 and 2 total. Answered from: Scope 1 plus Scope 2. If missing: Needs a fuel invoice or an electricity bill.
- Scope 2, market-based, and renewable share. Answered from: Bills plus your renewable power records. If missing: Not reported: no renewable electricity certificate, power purchase agreement or green tariff on record.
- Scope 3 by GHG category. Answered from: Each invoice line in its category: freight in 4, travel in 6, waste in 5. Only categories you have records for. If missing: None on record.
- Standard, factors, gases. Answered from: GHG Protocol, the factor stored with each record, CO2 only.
- How much is verified. Answered from: The check on each record. If missing: Needs records first.
- Intensity per unit of revenue: Not calculated: revenue is not in your records. The pack gives the total to divide.
- Refrigerant and process gases: Not counted: not in your records.
- Governance, policy and climate risk: Yours to answer.
Where your records stop, the pack says so
- Market-based Scope 2: "Not reported: no renewable electricity certificate, power purchase agreement or green tariff on record"
- Scope 3, with no freight, travel or waste records: "None on record"
- Third-party verification or assurance: "None"
- Emissions reduction target, when you have not set one: "No target set"
Totals count only records Senseible has checked against the source document. That check is Senseible's own, not third-party assurance. How to answer the verification question.

Short answers
Do I have to answer a CDP supply chain request?
No law makes you, but your customer sees whether you did, and many buyers use it in supplier reviews. If only customers requested you, CDP generally charges you no admin fee.
What do I say if my emissions are not third-party verified?
Say so plainly: no third-party verification or assurance is in place. Then explain how the figures were prepared and what evidence sits behind them. The answer pack writes "None" for third-party assurance and gives the basis of every figure.
Why does EcoVadis now want two Scope 2 figures?
From 7 May 2026 EcoVadis asks for location-based and market-based Scope 2 separately. Location-based comes from your electricity bills. Market-based needs renewable power records; without them the pack says so instead of copying the other figure.
Can I use one set of figures for every buyer?
Yes. Keep one set of figures per year, built from your bills, and copy it into each questionnaire. What changes is presentation: period, units, boundary and detail. The answer pack is that one set, in the order buyers usually ask.
Is the answer pack a CDP score or an EcoVadis rating?
No. CDP scores and EcoVadis rates. The pack gives you answers to paste, each with its basis, from your own invoices and bills. It is not an assurance statement.
What does it cost?
Reading a bill is free. The pack needs a free account; on the free plan each download counts toward your monthly report downloads.
