Why did EcoVadis not credit our energy and emissions figures?

EcoVadis credits energy consumption and greenhouse gas figures only if they cover at least 95% of the scope you are assessed on. Other reported figures need 80%. Numbers for your main plant alone, or a figure typed into the questionnaire with no supporting document, earn nothing.

The rule in EcoVadis's own methodology

Reporting counts only if it covers at least 80% of the scope of assessment, except energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, which must cover 95%. A separate rule says only questionnaire answers backed by a document are credited, and the document has to be linked to the right answer.

Five reasons a figure gets thrown out

Check your coverage before you submit

  1. List every site and entity in your EcoVadis scope, exactly as the questionnaire set-up shows it.
  2. For each site, collect 12 months of electricity bills and every fuel purchase: diesel, LPG, PNG, furnace oil, coal.
  3. Convert them: kWh times the CEA grid factor gives Scope 2; litres or kilograms of fuel times its factor gives Scope 1.
  4. Add up by site and see what share your figure covers. If any site is missing, get its bills before you submit; a partial figure is treated like no figure.
  5. Upload one dated summary that shows the total, the method and the sites covered, and link it to the energy and emissions answers.

Grid factor: CEA CO2 Baseline Database version 22.0 for FY 2025-26. Fuel factors: IPCC 2006 defaults. EcoVadis does not publish how it measures the 95%; share of emissions is a self-check, not its formula.

What Senseible does here

Upload a year of bills for every site and Senseible gives Scope 1 and 2 by site with the bill behind each line, so a missing plant shows up before EcoVadis finds it. Its team can then draft the energy and emissions answers from that record for you to review and submit.
