Will an EcoVadis corrective action plan improve our score?
Not by itself. EcoVadis does not review your Corrective Action Plan, and it does not change your current scorecard. Only a reassessment, which is a completely new analysis, can raise the score. The plan still matters: buyers watch it, and the documents you add carry into your next questionnaire.
What the plan does do
- Every improvement area on your sustainability or carbon scorecard appears as a corrective action marked Not started.
- Your buyers see each action's status and your action plan, but not documents you mark Private.
- A buyer can request a specific action, with an optional due date and a message. Each buyer sees only its own requests.
What carries into the reassessment
- Every document you upload to the plan goes into your Document library, and you keep access to the plan even after the scorecard or subscription expires.
- Basic plan: you must link those documents to the right questions yourself during the reassessment.
- Premium plan or higher: you see which questionnaire question each action relates to, why earlier documents were rejected, and can link new documents to the answer now, ready for the reassessment.
Which action to take first
Priority reflects impact on your score. On the carbon scorecard, the reporting area weighs 50%, so high-priority reporting actions come first. Two that EcoVadis gives as examples: set up a company-level GHG inventory under the GHG Protocol or another standard, and monitor emissions for your entire scope.
Keep the statuses honest
- Move an action to In progress as soon as you start collecting documents. Buyers read it as movement.
- Fill in the action plan: who owns it, the due date, the steps. You can edit it only while the status is In progress.
- Archive actions you will not take. Leaving them at Not started suggests you plan to.
- Reply to buyer requests in the chat on the action, so the conversation stays with the evidence.
A Pune sheet-metal supplier's year
- March 2026: scorecard published. Carbon improvement area: set up a company-level GHG inventory.
- April 2026: the buyer requests that action with a due date of 30 September. Status moved to In progress, owner and steps added.
- July 2026: FY 2025-26 inventory for both plants uploaded and linked. Status: Completed.
- Score until then: unchanged. The new inventory counts only when the reassessment runs, planned for February 2027.
Dates are an example; your scorecard shows your own improvement areas.
What Senseible does here
The carbon action most suppliers see first is a company-level GHG inventory. Senseible builds Scope 1 and 2 for every site from your bills, a document you can upload against that action and reuse at reassessment.
- Get your carbon number from bills
- Scorecard expiry and reassessment
- Carbon evidence EcoVadis asks for
- Questionnaire support
