When does an EcoVadis scorecard expire, and when should I start the reassessment?

An EcoVadis scorecard, and any medal or badge on it, is valid for 12 months from its publication date. A reassessment happens only if you choose to renew, and it creates a new scorecard with a new date. Start early enough that the new one is published before the old one lapses.

What expires, and when

Why the old figures will hurt you

A reassessment re-checks the age of everything you uploaded last time. Your ISO 14001 certificate may still be live and your energy policy may be fine for years, but the electricity and fuel figures you used will drop out once they pass two years. Last year's numbers are the first thing to refresh.

Work back from the expiry date

  1. Note the publication date on your current scorecard. Expiry is 12 months later.
  2. Leave room for EcoVadis's own review, which happens after you submit and before the new scorecard is published.
  3. Three months before expiry, close your latest financial year's electricity and fuel data and convert it to Scope 1 and 2.
  4. Open last year's improvement areas on the scorecard and gather proof of what you did about each.
  5. Check which documents carry over. Some plans re-use documents and your corrective action plan from the last assessment, where eligible.

Dates are an example; your own validity date is on your scorecard.

What Senseible does here

At renewal, upload the latest year's bills and Senseible gives fresh Scope 1 and 2 totals to replace figures nearing EcoVadis's two-year limit. Its team can redraft your answers from those verified records, and you review and submit the reassessment.
