Senseible

How does a Bhiwandi powerloom unit work out electricity CO2 per metre?

Multiply the month's electricity bill in kWh by 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh and divide by metres woven. Read metres from the loom counters or the production register. Yarn bought in is Scope 3 and is usually reported separately from weaving.

Steps

kWh from the bill for the weaving shed.

x 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh (CEA).

Divide by metres woven in the same month.

Mixed qualities

If you weave very different fabrics, split by picks or loom hours rather than metres, and say which basis you used.

Worked example: one month (illustrative inputs)

Quantities are illustrative; use your bill and loom counters.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads electricity bills (CEA grid factor 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh, CO2 Baseline Database version 21.0) and diesel, LPG and gas invoices (IPCC 2006 defaults) into a dated, fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record for each site. Intensity per unit uses the activity count you enter, and estimates are labelled as estimates.
