How should a footwear factory in Binh Duong calculate its Scope 1 and 2?
Scope 2 is grid electricity times Vietnam's grid factor. Scope 1 is fuel for boilers, heat setting ovens and forklifts, plus refrigerant leaks from chillers. Coal or biomass boilers are common, so use fuel invoices, keep biomass CO2 separate, and report each source with its quantity.
Scope 1
- Boiler fuel: coal, biomass pellets, LPG or diesel, from invoices.
- Forklift and genset fuel.
- Refrigerant top ups for chillers and air conditioning, by gas type.
Scope 2
Grid kWh x Vietnam's grid factor for the year. Rooftop solar used on site lowers grid kWh; certificates or a direct PPA affect market based only.

Brands ask for per pair figures. Split plant totals by pairs made, or by line hours if products differ a lot.
