How do I fill a customer's BRSR supplier questionnaire field by field?
Answer in the order the form asks: company details and period, the boundary you used, then Scope 1 by fuel, Scope 2 from electricity, total energy, water and waste. Put the unit and factor source beside every number and keep the bill behind each line.
Header fields
- Legal name and GSTIN of the entity you invoice the customer from.
- Reporting period: April to March, matching the customer's financial year unless they ask otherwise.
- Boundary: which plants or offices the figures cover, and whether anything is left out and why.
Emissions fields
- Scope 1: one line per fuel (diesel, LPG, PNG, coal, furnace oil) with quantity, unit, factor, source and tonnes CO2e.
- Scope 2: grid kWh from bills times the CEA grid factor, 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh, with the database version.
- Leave Scope 3 blank unless the form asks for it, and say so rather than guessing.
Energy, water and waste fields
- Energy: the same fuel and electricity quantities converted to GJ, with renewable and non-renewable shown separately.
- Water: withdrawal by source (municipal, borewell, tanker) and, if asked, consumption.
- Waste: tonnes by category from weighbridge slips and recycler receipts.
Before you send it
- Check units: kg against tonnes is the most common slip.
- Attach or offer the evidence list, not the bills themselves, unless the contract requires them.
- Name a contact who can answer follow-up questions.
What Senseible does here
Senseible reads kWh, litres and kg from electricity bills and fuel invoices into a dated record per site, with the factor and source on every line, and prepares BRSR drafts from that data. Reports are self-declared drafts.
