Senseible

What if my shipping bill code differs from the EU CN code?

CBAM coverage follows the 8-digit CN code on the EU import declaration, not your Indian ITC-HS code. The first six digits usually match; the last two can differ. Agree the CN code with your buyer before shipping and use it on the emissions data you send.

What to do

Common mistake

Assuming a product is out because the Indian code looks different. Check the CN code against Annex I, not your shipping bill.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel, electricity and purchase invoices into dated, fingerprinted installation records, the starting point for the actual emissions an EU importer asks for. It does not file CBAM declarations or verify emissions.
