Senseible

What should an EU importer ask an Indian steel supplier for under CBAM?

Ask for the installation and production route, embedded emissions per tonne by CN code, the precursors and their emissions, the period covered, and whether the figure is verified. Also ask for evidence of any carbon price actually paid; India's carbon market is still being set up.

Use the template

The Commission publishes a communication template for operators. Sending it early saves rework, because suppliers then collect data in the format you must declare.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads your fuel and electricity bills into dated, fingerprinted installation records, the starting point for the actual emissions your EU importer asks for, and its CBAM cost calculator estimates certificate cost from 2026 to 2034 for covered goods. Senseible does not verify emissions or file CBAM declarations.
