Senseible

What if my precursor supplier cannot give me a verification report for CBAM?

Use the Commission's default values for that precursor, including the mark-up. Actual data counts only if it comes from a positive verification report that covers the precursor's production year and was issued by a verifier accredited for that sector. You may mix default and actual data, even for the same precursor.

When actual supplier data is not usable

What you use instead

Mixing is allowed

Default values can be used for each quantity of precursor that lacks supplier data, together with actual data from your own plant. Even for one precursor type, some batches can use actual data and others defaults. Your emissions report shows the split.

Set your own cut-off date

The verification guidance suggests agreeing a deadline with your verifier. For example, if verification ends in July, compile your report by the end of June. If a precursor report has not arrived by then, substitute defaults and proceed.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads purchase invoices into dated, fingerprinted records, so the quantity of each bought input and its supplier are easy to list for the precursor table. It does not hold your supplier's verification reports.
