Senseible

Do I have to fill the CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) question 7.16 country breakdown if all my plants are in India?

The table has one row for each country you selected in question 1.7, so an India-only supplier sees one row, and in my reading its figures should match your totals in 7.6 and 7.7. CDP calls a country breakdown best practice and does not accept negative figures.

What the table holds

For each country or area: Scope 1 in tonnes carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e), Scope 2 location-based, and Scope 2 market-based. The rows are fixed and follow the countries you chose in question 1.7. The question is not shown to organisations in the financial services sector only. CDP's guidance does not say you may skip it; it calls the breakdown best practice.

Rules in CDP's guidance

What this means for an India-only supplier

With a single country there is one row. My reading is that it should equal your gross Scope 1 in 7.6, and your Scope 2 figures in 7.7 for each method. If you add a country in 1.7 later, such as an overseas office, its row needs its own electricity bills and that country's grid factor.

Example: one plant in India, one office abroad

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel invoices and electricity bills into monthly records, so the litres, kilowatt hours and months are in one place to copy from. An office abroad needs that country's grid factor from a published source.
