Our EU importer wants CBAM data for every shipment. Is that really needed?
Embedded emissions are worked out per installation and product over a reporting period, not shipment by shipment. Your importer may still ask you to tag each shipment with the period's figure, CN code and installation, so their declaration adds up. Agree a format once.
What changes per shipment
- Quantity and CN code.
- Installation where the goods were made.
- Reporting period whose figure applies.
What usually does not
- The specific embedded emissions per tonne, which come from the period's monitoring.
Save work
Send one data sheet per period and quote its reference on each invoice.
What Senseible does here
Senseible reads bills, fuel invoices and production records into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its documents.
