What carbon data do EU brands ask garment factories in Gazipur and Savar for?
Monthly electricity, captive generator gas or diesel, boiler fuel and refrigerant, with emissions per piece or per kg for the period. Garments are not CBAM goods, but brands counting Scope 3 and using platforms such as the Higg Facility Environmental Module ask for these figures and the bills behind them.
Energy to record
- Grid electricity, from bills.
- Gas or diesel for captive generators, from meters and invoices.
- Boiler fuel for washing, dyeing and ironing steam.
- Refrigerant top-ups in chillers and air conditioning.
Per piece or per kg
Divide by pieces produced for cut and sew, or kg processed for washing and dyeing. State which basis you use, and keep it the same each year.
Factors
Use the national grid factor published for Bangladesh, and IPCC defaults or supplier data for fuels. Name each factor and its source in your submission.
What Senseible does here
Senseible reads the energy invoices behind the making stage into a fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record, and keeps material invoices on the Scope 3 trail. Material factors come from your supplier or a named database and are labelled with their source, so the product figure can be traced line by line.
