Is Global Carbon Council a CCP-eligible programme?

Yes. ICVCM lists Global Carbon Council as a CCP-Eligible programme. That alone does not put the CCP label on its credits: each methodology needs its own approval, and none of the six GCC methodologies in ICVCM's table, from landfill gas to rice, showed a CCP-Approved status in the November 2026 update.

Two ticks, not one

ICVCM's rule is that a CCP label can only go on a credit issued with a CCP-Approved methodology under a CCP-Eligible programme. Programme eligibility is the first tick. The methodology is the second.

GCC methodologies in ICVCM's table

The same methodology, a different answer

ACM0001 versions 15.0 to 19.0 are CCP-Approved under Gold Standard and Verra's VCS, and AM0023 v4.0 and ACM0008 versions 6.0 to 8.0 are approved under the VCS. Under GCC, the same methodologies had no decision yet. So the programme a credit comes from can decide whether it carries the label today.

The 13 CCP-Eligible programmes

ACR, ART, BioCarbon, Cercarbono, Climate Action Reserve, Equitable Earth, Global Carbon Council, Gold Standard, Isometric, Plan Vivo, Puro.earth, Rainbow and Verra's Verified Carbon Standard.

What Senseible does here

Senseible gives carbon credit eligibility signals from your own energy and fuel records and stays neutral between programmes. It does not label, rate or sell credits.
