Senseible

How does a Nashik grape packhouse work out pre-cooling electricity per tonne?

Multiply the pre-cooling and cold room kWh by 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh and divide by tonnes packed in the same period. If the meter covers the whole packhouse, the figure includes packing too, so say so.

Steps

kWh for the pre-cooler and cold room, from the bill or a sub-meter.

Multiply by 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh.

Divide by tonnes packed for export.

Refrigerant

Gas added during servicing is Scope 1 leakage. Multiply kg added by its GWP.

Worked example: one day of season (illustrative quantities)

Quantities are illustrative; the factor is the CEA grid average.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads electricity bills (CEA grid factor 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh, CO2 Baseline Database version 21.0) and diesel, LPG and gas invoices (IPCC 2006 defaults) into a dated, fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record for each site. Intensity per unit uses the activity count you enter, and estimates are labelled as estimates.
