Have a year of electricity bills, diesel and LPG invoices, and production by part, giving Scope 1 and 2 and a figure per part. Grid power at 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh is usually the biggest own source; purchased steel and aluminium are larger still.

• Diesel for generators, LPG for furnaces.
• Production by part number.

Use the CEA grid factor of 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh and IPCC fuel defaults, stating both.

Materials

Ask steel and aluminium suppliers for their figures; give defaults where you have none, labelled as estimates.
