What CBAM figure does an EU buyer need for Tunisian clinker or cement?
Per tonne of clinker: calcination CO2 from limestone, roughly half a tonne, plus kiln fuel, often petcoke or gas. Cement adds grinding power and takes its clinker share. Electricity counts toward the charge for cement, so ask for a verified figure with kWh.
What goes in
- Process CO2 from calcining limestone.
- Kiln fuel: petcoke, coal or gas.
- Electricity for grinding and fans.
Clinker share
A cement with less clinker carries less CO2 per tonne. Ask for the share in each grade you buy.
Carbon price
Tunisia has no carbon price to deduct.
What Senseible does here
Senseible keeps each site's fuel, power and production records together, so the embedded emissions you send an EU importer trace back to dated documents.
