What are the emissions from boiling and drying turmeric per tonne?

Boiling is the energy step. Firewood or agricultural waste fires give biogenic CO2, reported separately, plus small methane and nitrous oxide amounts that do count. Steam boilers using coal or gas count fully. Sun drying adds nothing; mechanical dryers add their fuel or power.

What to count

Biomass fuel

CO2 from burning wood or crop waste is biogenic and shown outside the scopes. Methane and nitrous oxide from the fire are counted using IPCC defaults for the fuel.

Per tonne of what

Fresh rhizomes lose most of their weight in curing and drying. Report per tonne of dried, polished turmeric sold, and state it.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel, electricity and freight invoices into a dated, fingerprinted record per site, so each figure you send a buyer can be traced back to the documents behind it.
