What goes into a two-wheeler service centre's Scope 1 and Scope 2?
Scope 1 covers fuel you burn, such as diesel in a generator and petrol used for test rides on vehicles you control. Scope 2 is grid electricity for lifts, compressors and washing. Oil and parts you buy are Scope 3.
Scope 1
Generator diesel at 2.68 kg CO2 per litre.
Petrol for workshop and test-ride use, from the fuel log.
Scope 2
Grid kWh x 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh.
Scope 3
Engine oil, parts and consumables bought, and waste oil sent for recycling.
What Senseible does here
Senseible reads electricity bills (CEA grid factor 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh, CO2 Baseline Database version 21.0) and diesel, LPG and gas invoices (IPCC 2006 defaults) into a dated, fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record for each site. Intensity per unit uses the activity count you enter, and estimates are labelled as estimates.
