The verifier wants proof of where our emission factors come from. What do we show?
Show each factor with its publisher, edition, year and unit, such as CEA version 21.0 for the Indian grid at 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh, and IPCC 2006 defaults for fuels. Keep a copy or link of the source table and note why it was chosen.
For each factor
- Publisher and document name.
- Edition or version and year.
- Unit, and any conversion applied.
Choosing
Prefer official national factors, then IPCC defaults, then supplier specific figures with evidence. Record the reason.
Changes
If a factor changes between years, say so and show the effect on the total.
What Senseible does here
Senseible keeps each record with its source document, fingerprint, factor and method version, so a verifier can trace any figure back to the bill it came from.
