Does waste tyre EPR in India change a tyre maker's carbon footprint?

EPR for waste tyres, added to India's hazardous waste rules in 2022, makes producers and importers meet recycling obligations through registered recyclers, including pyrolysis units. It does not change your factory emissions, but recycler records can inform the end-of-life part of a tyre's footprint.

What to keep

For the footprint

End of life (Category 12) depends on the route. Pyrolysis oil burned as fuel emits CO2 when burned, so do not treat it as zero.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads bills, fuel invoices and production records into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its documents.
