When will CBAM accredited verifiers be available?
The Commission expected the first accreditations around September 2026, when accredited verifiers can register in the CBAM Registry and start documentation reviews and site visits. The first verification reports can be issued from January 2027.
Commission timeline
- April 2026: national accreditation bodies begin CBAM accreditation.
- September 2026: accredited verifiers can register; first verifications start.
- January 2027: first verification reports; operators can share them with declarants.
- September 2027: declarants finalise declarations for 2026.
What to do now
Book a verifier early. The Commission warns of capacity bottlenecks near the end of the reporting period.
What Senseible does here
Senseible keeps the invoices behind each fuel and electricity figure in one fingerprinted record, so a verifier can sample them without a hunt through files. Senseible is not a CBAM verifier and does not issue verification reports.
