What are the emissions of recovering aluminium from dross?
Dross processors melt dross in rotary furnaces with salt flux, burning gas or furnace oil. Count fuel at IPCC defaults and electricity, then divide by tonnes of aluminium recovered. Salt cake left over goes to disposal in Scope 3.
Records
- Furnace fuel per batch.
- Tonnes of dross charged and aluminium recovered.
- Salt flux bought and salt cake sent for disposal.
CBAM
Aluminium ingots made from dross are CBAM goods. Your fuel records are the installation data an EU importer needs.
What Senseible does here
Senseible reads fuel, electricity and production documents into dated, fingerprinted installation records, the starting point for the actual emissions an EU importer asks for.
