What energy and emissions questions does amfori BEPI ask a factory, and what evidence works?

amfori BEPI asks about energy and emissions in its Energy and Climate area, one of eight performance areas. The self-assessment asks for energy use by source, which the amfori platform converts to greenhouse gas emissions. Evidence that works: twelve months of electricity bills and fuel invoices, metering records, and dated records of reduction actions.

How BEPI is structured

BEPI is amfori's environmental programme. A site starts with a self-assessment on the amfori platform covering eight environmental performance areas, Energy and Climate among them, and a buyer may then ask for an on-site assessment against the same Code of Conduct. Environmental monitoring is meant for business partners that have operated for at least twelve months, so records across months count for more than one annual total.

What the Energy and Climate area looks at

Evidence that holds up

Where factories lose marks

Energy recorded for the main building but not the jobwork unit or the ETP. A solar claim with no generation records. A reduction claim with no before and after readings. Fuel quantities entered in the wrong unit. Each is fixable before the assessment if the bills are already in one place.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads electricity bills and fuel invoices month by month, calculates Scope 1 and 2 with the factor shown on every line, and keeps each file with a SHA-256 fingerprint so the evidence behind a figure can be shown.
