Can a CBAM verifier tell us how to fix our monitoring?
No. A verifier can point out misstatements and non-conformities and recommend improvements, but must not tell you in detail how to make them. Consulting would compromise its impartiality and could cost it its accreditation. Use a separate adviser for fixes.
What the verifier can do
- Ask you to correct misstatements before issuing the report.
- Note non-material findings and recommendations.
- Check your monitoring plan against the rules.
What it cannot do
- Write or redesign your monitoring plan.
- Do calculations for you.
What Senseible does here
Senseible keeps the invoices behind each fuel and electricity figure in one fingerprinted record, so a verifier can sample them without a hunt through files. Senseible is not a CBAM verifier and does not issue verification reports.
