What is the CBAM default value for cast iron pipe fittings exported from India?

Indian fittings of non-malleable cast iron, CN 7307 11, and of other cast iron, 7307 19 10, carry a CBAM default of 3.859 t CO2e per tonne. Cast steel fittings under 7307 19 90 carry 4.320. Direct emissions only, before the 10% mark-up for 2026.

Mark-up on top

Default values are raised by a mark-up: 10% in 2026, 20% in 2027 and 30% from 2028. Goods imported in 2026 take the 2026 mark-up.

What drives a foundry's actual figure

Records to keep

Charge sheets with pig iron and scrap per melt, coke and fuel invoices, and good castings despatched. Melt yield matters: each tonne of fittings carries the precursor of every tonne melted for it, including runners and rejects.

Example: pig iron inside one tonne of fittings, 2026

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads coal, coke, gas, electricity and freight invoices into a dated record per site, so an actual figure you send an EU buyer traces back to the documents behind it. We build it from your records, check every figure in-house, and an accredited verifier we partner with signs it off. Have your own verifier? Send it to them.
