Is the Commission's CBAM emissions report template mandatory for suppliers?
Yes. Where embedded emissions are based on actual data, the operator must prepare an annual operator's emissions report and a summary using the Commission's template. It is in English, so buyers in any member state find the same data in the same fields.
What the template holds
- Emissions by production process and by 8-digit CN code.
- Free allocation adjustment data.
- A summary report generated automatically from the Excel version.
Electricity exporters
Where electricity emissions are based on actual data, a declarant-specific addendum is also needed.
When to send it
After the calendar year closes and verification is complete. Until the next year's report is ready, the latest verified one is used.
What Senseible does here
Senseible reads an exporter's fuel and electricity invoices into dated, fingerprinted records that a monitoring plan and a verifier can trace back to source. Senseible does not verify emissions, register operators in the CBAM Registry or file CBAM declarations.
