Which agencies are accredited to verify under India's CCTS?
BEE's register, updated 21 October 2026, lists 18 agencies: 3 with final accreditation and 15 provisional. Twelve are accredited for the compliance mechanism only, five for offsets only and one for both. Check the agency's mechanism and sector scope before appointing it.
What the register shows
- Final accreditation: Bureau Veritas India (both mechanisms), TUV India (offsets) and KBS Certification Services (offsets).
- Provisional accreditation for the rest, including VKU Certification, Earthood, PGS Energy Services, FICCI, CII and URS Certification.
- Each entry gives the mechanism and the sectors covered, for example cement, iron and steel or textile under compliance, or energy, industries and waste under offsets.
- One agency was marked on hold.
Why final versus provisional matters
BEE's accreditation procedure lets an agency validate or verify only after final accreditation; provisional agencies must get ISO 14065 within one year. Ask the agency for its current certificate and scope.
Remember
An offset project needs two different agencies, one to validate and one to verify, both accredited for its sector scope.
