Have Indian rock weathering projects issued carbon credits yet?

Yes. Varaha's basalt project on black cotton soils in central India is certified under the Puro Standard, and its Puro facility page lists CORCs issued in 2025 and 2026. Frontier's portfolio also shows delivered tonnes from Alt Carbon in Darjeeling and Mati on Indian rice paddies, both under prepurchases.

Why so few so far

Weathering is slow and has to be measured in soil and water, not just modelled, so issuance comes in small volumes at first. Puro.earth's APAC review says faster growth in the region depends largely on whether ERW in India scales as projected.

What Senseible does here

Senseible's offline field app maps each plot and keeps geotagged photos and each farmer's recorded consent, so field evidence reaches the verifier evidence pack intact.
