What is the Isometric registry, and who can issue on it?
The Isometric Registry is the public record of every certificate issued under the Isometric Standard, one per tonne removed or reduced, with the data and calculations published. Any project worldwide that follows a certified Isometric protocol can issue there after an independent verifier, chosen by Isometric, validates the project and verifies each claim.
What the registry holds
- Carbon dioxide removal certificates and emission reduction certificates, each for one net tonne of CO2e.
- The data, calculations and evidence behind each one, published for anyone to check.
- Each credit's transfers, retirement and ownership history.
Who can issue
- Projects anywhere: the Standard says Isometric works with projects worldwide.
- The project must follow a certified Isometric protocol, such as Biochar Production and Storage or Enhanced Weathering in Agriculture.
- An independent VVB validates the project once, with a site visit, and then verifies each claim with reasonable assurance under ISO 14064-3 and ISO 14065.
- Isometric picks the VVB. It does not sell or broker credits, and buyers pay for certification, not project developers.
Recognition
Isometric lists endorsements from ICROA, the ICVCM and CORSIA. Its Biochar Protocol v1.0 was approved for the CCP label in August 2025. Isometric has also applied to the European Commission for recognition under the EU CRCF for biochar, DACCS and BioCCS; that assessment is in progress.
Indian projects on it
Varaha chose Isometric in July 2025 as the registry for its enhanced weathering work on smallholder cotton farms in India, with its digital MRV data flowing into Isometric Certify.
What Senseible does here
Senseible holds the field and batch records an Isometric verifier asks for, from geotagged photos to kiln sensor temperature logs, and keeps them tied to each batch. Isometric's verifier reviews them and Isometric issues the certificates.
- Carbon removal projects
- Puro, Isometric or Verra for biochar
- Rock weathering credits in India
- Carbon removal for buyers
