Can an Indian carbon removal project apply for a Frontier offtake?

Yes, if the pathway is in scope. Frontier's application pages name no country limit, and two rock weathering projects in India already hold Frontier prepurchases. But biochar, soil carbon and afforestation are out of scope, and the offtake track wants a validated pilot, a robust protocol and 10,000 tonnes or more within five years.

What is out of scope

Offtake track fit

Earlier-stage route

The Innovation track buys small prepurchases, paid upfront, from teams with lab-scale data and an MRV plan who can deliver first tonnes in one to two years. Alt Carbon (basalt on Darjeeling tea estates) and Mati (rock powder on Indian rice paddies) entered Frontier's portfolio this way.

How the offtake process runs

  1. Expression of interest, then a candidate screen.
  2. Full application with a techno-economic analysis spreadsheet.
  3. Expert review, then a half-day site visit.
  4. Diligence memo to Frontier buyers, then contract negotiation. Payment is on delivery of issued credits.

What Senseible does here

Senseible's forward contract and milestone tracking keeps each delivery tied to the field and batch records behind it, and the verifier evidence pack shows the tonnes a buyer like Frontier is paying for.
